I was so excited when I returned to London.. Gordon Ramsay had opened a new restaurant! I made reservations for Lucky Cat immediately. Like all Ramsay restaurants I have been to, the staff, decor, and food were amazing. It is fine dining, but has a totally different vibe because all of the dishes are meant to be shared. Food was brought out one plate after another and pretty soon the table was filled with beautiful and delicious dishes.
I started with the salt and pepper shrimp.. It was so flavorful and crispy. The pepper was bold and the salt, so tangy..It was an unbelievably tasty dish..
Next was the tempura avocado which I had never had..It is now my favorite thing ever : ) The soft, warm avocado with the crispy texture was unfamiliar and heavenly..
Because I was so happy with the previous tempura dishes I decided to also get the tempura veggies and seafood. Such a clean, light flavor and texture..
I also ordered a bowl of black sesame rice because I wanted to see it : ) Delicious and pretty..
Some pork gyoza.. cooked perfectly and plated beautifully.
My favorite part of any meal is dessert.. and Ramsay restaurants are always a treat. The passionfruit and yuzu souffle with mascarpone ice cream was perfect. Not only did it look stunning, it was delicious.
I, personally, don’t think that dessert counts if its not chocolate..so I also ordered the chocolate tofu (it’s not made of tofu) filled with the most silky chocolate mousse.
The attention to detail, for me, is breathtaking. All of these dishes are so attentively plated that I feel like I am viewing art. Visiting a Gordon Ramsay restaurant really is, an experience like no other.
I was so happy to get a table at Lucky Cat so close to their opening date. It is the highlight of any of my travels to find a Ramsay restaurant. Especially a new one. I can’t wait to go back!
