The Education Cultural Complex is building a Civil Rights Museum in San Diego, California to celebrate San Diego’s Civil Rights heroes. Alyce Smith Cooper, a member of the ECC Historical Preservation Committee, has been retained to write a book about the history of the Educational Cultural Complex. She has been performing on the Complex stage since 1976.

Alyce an Ancestral Storyteller continues to be actively involved in the Black History Month presentations. Known as the Golden Brown Fairy Godmother she shares her spoken word gift to tell stories and to promote the contributions of African Americans.
